Off the back of my previous list, ‘Top 10 Movie Mask’, this time we’re gonna talk about some facial-wear with a bit more around-the-head action going on. Whether it’s for style, protection or … well I can’t think of any other reasons someone might want to wear a helmet. These’re my personal favourite Hollywood helmets:
10. Ranger Helmet (Power Rangers, 2017) – Up until this film, I wouldn’t have blamed you for thinking these were just to complete the costume. This film, however, introduced guns and we found out this these bad boys are bullet-proof. Serving some functionality realness.
9. The Black Knight’s Helmet (Monty Python and the Holy Grail, 1975) – Despite it looking like a sooty tin can, it did sit atop the head of the most fearsome fighter in the land so some brownie points there.
8. Spartan Helmet (300, 2004) – So they can’t have body armour, otherwise how will you show off the CGI abs? Abs plus this golden Spartan helmet is much manlier anyway!
7. Magneto’s Helmet (X-Men series, 2000-2019) – Do you have a problem with Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy reading your mind? Well boy, have I got the thing for you.
6. Black Panther’s Vibranium Helmet (MCU, 2016-2022) – Not only is this some matte black suaveness, it’s made of Vibranium which is some real hardcore shit. If you know, you know.
5. The Rocketeer’s Helmet (The Rocketeer, 1991) – This is for you helmet hipsters out there looking for something a little more retro. It’s called FASHUN, darling.
4. Darth Vader’s Helmet (Star Wars series, 1977-2016) – Any of you basic bitches thinking this was gonna be #1 are so wrong! Yeah, it is pretty cool and all but it’s not even the coolest helmet in Star Wars let alone all of cinema. I wouldn’t say that to his robotic face though.
3. Maximus’ Spiked Helmet (Gladiator, 2000) – Here’s the ultimate gladiator drip. Killing slaves and other gladiators will always look good but this helmet makes it look next-level.
2. Boba Fett’s Mandalorian Helmet (Star Wars series, 1980-1983) – Before there was The Mandalorian in his series and Maul in the Prequels, Boba Fett was the bad S.O.B that everyone wanted to be because, simply, he was the coolest guy on any planet.

And finally …
- Sauron’s Helmet (The Lord of the Rings series, 2001-2003 & The Hobbit series, 2012-2014) – This could’ve been usurped by the helmet of his right-hand man The Witch King, but holy shitballs Sauron’s helmet is the single most awesome helmet in cinema! With a helmet that badass, you really can’t blame him for wanting to conquer Middle-Earth.
